Martin Johnson is an advisor and operator with over two decades of experience leading growth, corporate development, and complex strategic transactions inside global organizations.
He founded Anchor Advisory to work with leadership teams at moments when strategic decisions carry disproportionate and often irreversible consequences—before momentum, formal process, or external signaling limits available options.
Previously, Martin served as Head of Corporate Development at CoStar Group, where he led more than 25 acquisitions with a combined transaction value exceeding $10 billion. During his tenure, CoStar’s market capitalization more than doubled, growing from approximately $15 billion to over $30 billion, driven in large part by disciplined inorganic expansion. These acquisitions significantly broadened the company’s global footprint across commercial and residential real estate markets.
Earlier in his career, Martin held senior leadership roles at Visa, Inc., where he helped shape global strategy and established the company’s Strategic Partnerships division. In that role, he forged alliances with leading technology companies, materially expanding Visa’s market presence and driving substantial increases in payment volume. His experience at Visa also spanned commercial sales, partnerships, financial analysis, and strategic planning.
Martin began his career in strategy and operations consulting at Deloitte and has also worked as an independent advisor, supporting organizations navigating growth, partnerships, and transactions across multiple stages of maturity.
Across roles, Martin is known for his judgment, restraint, and ability to identify risks and misalignment early—before they become expensive or difficult to unwind.
